Bluesound Node Nano Streamer Review

If the process by which you choose equipment is a numbers game, I suspect you have already made your mind up about the Nano and I completely understand why. It’s exactly twice the price of the Wiim Pro which sports a similar spec and better connectivity and it’s only £50 less than the Wiim Ultra which we’ve yet to test but, let’s be honest here, is unlikely to be shabby. I do not feel that the process by which the Nano sets out to take the young upstart on at its own game is going to be completely successful because the young upstart is sufficiently large and enjoys sufficient economies of scale that it can’t be nipped in the bud.

This doesn’t tell the whole story though. This is still the most cost effective way of buying into the best multiroom interface in the business and the value of the Nano hinges on how many other BluOS devices you either already have or think you might secure going forward. The Nano’s virtue as a single device is considerable but not untouchable. As part of a wider household of devices though, it’s rather more impressive and Bluesound has gone and shaved another £150 off the cost of turning an existing system into one of those zones. This is a device you buy for the present with one eye on the future and its strength in depth means it comes enthusiastically Recommended.»
