Job DescriptionOur Hydro Mechanical function supports operational units in all Statkraft Regions, with mechanical expertise. We perform waterway dynamics and transient analysis, condition monitoring and analysis, turbine technology and layout, hydraulic steelworks in waterways and support our powerplants in FCR performance testing.
As a summer intern with us you will gain deep insight into the Norwegian hydropower plant technology, you will travel to some of Statkrafts hydropower plants, and by joining our team you will contribute to our mission of harnessing critical information which will be vital to our team of experts.
You’ll be part of a team that combines expertise, experience, and innovation to drive the development of renewable energy.

Examples of Tasks You Might Work On
Depending on the needs of the department and your interests, you may work on:
- Mapping and identifying parameters which describe vital hydro mechanical equipment
- Gathering technical attributes and lifespan data for runners using both physical and digital archives.
- Compile a comprehensive database of information for correlation analyses and lifetime estimation.
Tasks will be tailored to ensure you work on areas that excite and engage you the most!
QualificationsWho Are We Looking For?
We are looking for students who:
- Are passionate about renewable energy and sustainable solutions.
- Have strong analytical skills and a structured, detail-oriented approach to work.
- Are motivated, proactive, and enjoy working in teams.
- Are studying renewable energy, mechanical engineering, data analysis, information science with a specialization in Archival Studies.
- Are currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree.

Practical Information
- Duration: 20.06 - 15.08.2025. The program includes two weeks of vacation.
- Location: Lilleaker and/or Sluppen.
- Final Presentation: The program concludes with interns presenting their work to management and colleagues (in English).
