We are looking for an experienced Power and Automation Manager to our team.
Preferred working location is Bergen, but working out of our Stavanger or Oslo offices can be discussed.
This is a key position that will be responsible for the utility power and automation system design and follow up on HV power production including operational philosophies, and solutions for integration with power systems and grid. The work tasks will be relevant both in floater development work and in wind park projects.
You will be part of a fast-moving and highly competent organization, building the world's leading knowledge base for floating offshore wind turbines for worldwide operations. This is a unique opportunity to become a pioneer at the forefront of this next generation technology. You will be working with challenges within:
- Design and specifications of utility systems
- Integration of HV power electronics with modern SCADA systems
- Wind park controls and operations
- Connection to onshore power grids
- Utilisation of new technology in floating wind parks
- Subsea HV dynamical cable systems
- HV grid control and equipment
- Commissioning and handover to operations
The above in a remotely controlled floating offshore wind park setting.
The successful candidate must have the following:
- Engineering degree or recognised technical qualification with relevant experience within power and automation system design.
- 10 years' experience in a technical supervisory role within design and/or operation of power and automation systems.
- Good leadership and collaborative qualities.
- As the working language is English, good oral and written English skills are required.
The key duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the responsibilities detailed below:
- Responsible for the power and automation system design, convert design to functional and technical specifications for both engineering and equipment.
- Assure complete commissioning specifications and handover to operations.
- Develop/facilitate scope of work for building projects, modifications and major repairs.
- Ensure that the installation complies with applicable and relevant rules and regulations. Compliance measurements.
- Manage engineering contractors and their deliverables to ensure efficient execution of activities.
- Lead technical assurance processes in support of project requirements.
- Participate in vendor audits, including offshore visits where required.
- Identify project risks and uncertainties and identify mitigating measures.
- Facilitate client Technical Authority approval for engineering solutions.
- Planning and budgeting.
- Management of personnel.
Experience/knowledge
Good knowledge of relevant codes, standards, regulations and engineering best practices.
Demonstrable experience in all aspects of project deliveries including planning and execution, client management, supplier management and management of regulators
