Senior Engineer - Marine installation

Nexans global vision is to electrify the future! This means designing, engineering, fabricating and installing the worlds’ best subsea cables. The marine installation department is looking for a Senior Engineer Marine Installation to join our Laying & System Engineering group.
The Marine Installation Engineering Department consists of more than 150 engineers with the main office in Norway and with branch offices in France and the US. We work with windfarm and interconnector projects world wide.
How you make an impact:
The work typically consists of:
- You will work in the Marine Installation Engineering group as a senior or specialist engineer and assigned to a multidiscipline project team as a Marine Engineering Lead or senior engineer.
- If you work as a Marine Engineering Lead you will lead a team of engineers within Cable Laying, Survey and Protection. You will be responsible for the deliverables from your team such as
- Procedures and Analysis
- Specifications for equipment and services.
- Planning and scheduling of marine operations
- Internal and external packages.
- You will interface regularly with client on technical matters.
- You will also participate in developing and be responsible for technical solutions relevant in the department.
- You will make a solid impact by participating in Quality and HSE activities internally.
- Our engineers normally follow their projects from start to finish, including going offshore on the vessels to follow up the work.
The work may also consist of
- Preparing procedures and task plans for the marine operations
- Plan and give input to marine installation schedules
- Perform analysis/calculations
- Prepare specifications for equipment and services
- Follow-up of subcontractors

- Excellent English language skills – Norwegian is a plus.
- Higher technical education from college or university (bachelor / master's degree) and / or other relevant work experience.
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience working in projects with marine installation operations. Experience from offshore installation or subsea operations is a plus.
