Are you ready to take on advanced control system hardware projects?
Jefferson Wells is looking for a Project Lead Engineer – Control System Hardware on behalf of our client ABB Norway PAEN (Process Automation and Energy Industries). ABB is involved in projects delivering electrical equipment and advanced control systems across a broad field of applications, such as the oil and gas industry, subsea electrical systems, power from shore to oil installations, offshore wind, hydro power plants, onshore and offshore fish farms, and more. We are looking for a motivated colleague to be part of ABB's automation team in Oslo and within their hardware competence group.
In this role, you will play a central part in developing control system hardware in close collaboration with customers. Working within a professional and innovative environment, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through project deliveries, service tasks, and commissioning, always with the support of experienced colleagues.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Design and development of hardware cabinets.
- Recommend innovative hardware solutions to enhance system performance.
- Plan and execute engineering tasks, including offshore installations and testing.
- Adhere to industry-standard procedures and best practices.
- Collaborate with customers and vendors in Norway and internationally.
- Travel as required for project assignments.
Background and Qualifications
You are eager to learn and grow, not just for yourself but also to inspire and support your colleagues. With a certificate of apprenticeship or a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree, you bring a solid foundation to the role. Your ability to communicate fluently in English, both written and oral, ensures you can collaborate effectively with diverse teams and international clients. If you also have Norwegian language skills, that’s a bonus.
Your understanding of commercial aspects and client needs sets you apart, and any experience you have with automation or electrical systems will give you an added edge. Familiarity with tools such as STID, COMOS, or EBASE is also advantageous. Above all, you bring curiosity, dedication, and the drive to deliver high-quality results in a dynamic environment.
