We are looking for a Business Development & Commercial Manager to join our management team and play a key role in shaping JAPEX Norge’s growth trajectory. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead strategic transactions, foster strong commercial relationships, and contribute to JAPEX’s success on the NCS.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development Strategy: Contribute to refining JAPEX’s growth strategy on the NCS and identifying new opportunities for acquisitions, exploration, and production.
- Transaction Execution: Lead and manage M&A activities, including due diligence coordination, valuation, bid strategy, negotiations.
- Commercial Leadership: Develop and negotiate agreements to optimize the value of both existing and new projects.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and sustain strong relationships with partners, operators, and stakeholders to foster collaboration and alignment.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced staff, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking an experienced and strategic professional with a solid background in business development and commercial roles within the oil and gas sector on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS). The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership capabilities, exceptional negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of investment evaluations, and risk assessments.
As a natural relationship builder, you will have a strong network within the Norwegian oil and gas market, enabling you to engage effectively with operators and partners. You should be a hands-on problem solver, capable of thinking laterally and delivering high-quality work under pressure. As a supportive team player, you will foster collaboration while guiding and mentoring less experienced colleagues.
Your excellent analytical skills, combined with a detail-oriented approach and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly, will enable you to effectively engage with stakeholders. Fluency in English, both written and oral, is essential, and strong presentation skills are expected. Knowledge of the Norwegian language will be seen as an advantage.
