We are seeking Graduate Geologists to join our team. In this 6-12 month program, you will receive comprehensive training and strong support from the department, helping you develop the skills and experience needed to transition into a Geologist position.
The Geologist is a member of the Offshore Survey Team and shall participate in interpretation and reporting of all acoustic sensor data, side scan sonar and sub-bottom profiler. The Geologist is also responsible for reviewing pipeline inspection video data. Finally, the Geologist together with the Senior Surveyor/Report Coordinator are responsible for preparing all written reports, survey results from video review and acoustic data interpretation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Check quality of video and acoustic sensor data and give immediate feedback if the data quality is not meeting the client specifications.
- Perform all video review eventing and build up events database in accordance with the specifications.
- Perform all interpretation of acoustic data, side scan sonar and sub-bottom profiler.
- Plan and schedule data interpretation and reporting, and make sure work are performed in order as prioritised.
- Prepare reports with responsibility for the results from the interpretation of video and acoustic data.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in a geoscience-oriented subject.
- Proficient verbal and written communication in English.
- Experience with one or several of the following is preferred:
- Microsoft Office (Word, excel & Access)
- AutoCAD
- GIS applications
