We are now specifically on the lookout for Senior R&D Engineer in our Products R&D department in Trondheim, you can help us accelerate this vision. As our new Senior R&D Engineer you will be part of a team who are working on world-class electronics development.

Developing world-leading ultra-low power On Board Equipment (OBE) tolling solutions

Q-Free is developing a new generation of world-leading tolling solutions based on GNSS, LTE -M and DSRC. This project is instrumental in Q-Free´s vision to be the prime mover in intelligent traffic solutions, facing increased demands on flexibility, speed, and complexity for HW, FW, and SW alike. We are looking for a Senior R&D Engineer to strengthen our cross-functional team. Your job will be to push the boundaries for power consumption and performance in microchip design and at the same time focus on a modular and scalable design approach. Our wide array of products is developed in Trondheim in collaboration with our leading international partners and are used worldwide.

As part of our diverse team, you'll work across projects that contribute to safer, smarter, and more sustainable mobility worldwide. From intelligent transport systems (ITS) to the next generation of cooperative intelligent transport systems (C-ITS), your contributions will have a direct impact on how we, as a global community, move.

As a Senior R&D Engineer you will be responsible for

• Product development in cross-functional teams (SW/FW, HW electronics, RF, mechanics)
• Be a main contributor in bridging multidisciplinary teams involving hardware and firmware
• Contribute to framework for automated testing. Including test configuration, data collection, system calibration, qualification and device characterization.
• Firmware development (specifications, design/architecture, development, testing, maintenance)
• Support supply chain in the development of production test planning and industrialization
• Prototyping new ideas

• Experience in either technology, development, IT, or communication is a plus, but not a requirement.
• BSc/MSc in Electronics Engineering, Cybernetics, Physics or Computer Science, or related technical field
• Minimum 7 years relevant experience.
• Background in microelectronics and signal processing with strong HW understanding.
• Experience with MCU low level programming.
