We seek a Senior Android Embedded Software Engineer for our mission to empower people by bringing healthcare home
Are you an experienced Android developer eager to tackle complex technical challenges and create innovative healthcare solutions?
As an Android Embedded Software Engineer, you’ll play a key role in the design, development and maintenance of scalable, high-quality software for our medication dispenser products. Dive into cutting-edge Android technologies and RESTful APIs, while contributing to UI enhancements and system architecture in a dynamic, collaborative, and hybrid work environment.
Workplace is Oslo (Norway). The position is part of a virtual team with members in Toronto (Canada).
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-quality software solutions.
- Evaluate solution feasibility, balancing performance and scalability.
- Collaborate in Agile development processes and knowledge sharing.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables effectively.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, promoting best practices.
- Drive product development from ideation to deployment.
- Propose innovative technologies to advance the company’s solutions.
- Enhance UI and usability standards through design discussions.
- Develop expertise in new and emerging Android platforms.
- Support and improve existing software systems.

Qualifications
- Extensive experience in professional software development for large systems.
- Proven Android development expertise with Java, and preferably also Kotlin.
- Strong understanding of unit testing best practices, mocking frameworks, and RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with mobile network communication, API integration, and app usability best practices.
- Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., SQL) and security best practices for web applications.
- Intuitive grasp of emerging trends in Android platforms, UI, and usability standards.
- Ability to manage complex projects independently with attention to detail and effective time management.
- Familiarity with the Android Open Source Project and OS-level development experience is a plus.
- Experience with developing software for mechatronic or hardware-integrated products is a plus.
