Are you a mechanical engineer with experience and interest in reciprocating engines?
Bergen Engines is offering an exciting opportunity for a Sales Support Engineer in our Bid Department. Bergen Engines builds medium-speed reciprocating engines for marine and land-based applications. Our engines can be found operating in some of the most demanding and hostile environments on Earth, both on land and at sea. Does working to support our Sales Team and learning more about how our engines are used in ships and land-based installations sound interesting? And to contribute to the implementation of engines powered by Hydrogen and other types of fossil-free fuels? You will work closely with internal teams (Sales, R&D, Engineering, Planning, Finance) and customers, contributing to the development of hydrogen-powered and fossil-free fuel engines. As part of the role you will also be responsible for Export Control Compliance for new sales projects.
Main tasks:
- Reviewing the customer's specifications to ensure that our delivery meets the project requirements and propose solutions for the customer.
- Make technical and commercial clarifications internally, as well as specifying equipment and obtaining quotes from various suppliers.
- Ensuring compliance with national and international laws regarding export of goods, services, and technologies.
- Configuring the engine and auxiliary equipment and calculating the sales price.
- Preparing project-specific engine data and technical specifications for the project.
- If necessary, attending meetings with customers.
- Facilitate contract handover to the company's Project Execution Team.
Qualifications:
- Mechanical Engineer (Msc, BSc).
- 3-5 years of experience with reciprocating engines or other type of rotational equipment.
- Experience from emergency power installations or marine industry will be an advantage.
- Interest and knowledge of reciprocating engines and it’s auxiliary systems and it is an advantage if you have worked with similar tasks.
- Strong communication skills in both Norwegian and English are preferred, but English-speaking candidates could also be considered.

- Ability to stay calm and work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Positive attitude and good collaboration skills.
