Program and Grants Manager for the Interfaith Rainforest Initiative
You will help manage and develop the exciting Interfaith Rainforest Initiative (IRI), an international, multi-faith alliance that promotes moral urgency and faith-based leadership in global efforts to end tropical deforestation.

About Rainforest Foundation Norway:
Rainforest Foundation Norway (RFN) is one of Europe’s leading organizations dedicated to protecting the world’s rainforests and strengthening the rights of indigenous peoples and local communities (IP & LCs). We are hosting the Interfaith Rainforest Initiative, which brings religious commitment, influence, and moral authority to efforts to protect the world’s rainforests and the indigenous peoples that serve as their guardians.
Position overview: We are seeking a Program and Grants Manager for the Interfaith Rainforest Initiative to ensure that grants are managed effectively and timely to meet donor requirements.
Location: Oslo. The position requires working with staff, peers, and partners across countries and multiple time zones.
Reporting Structure: You will report to the Interfaith Rainforest Initiative Program Director and collaborate closely with other RFN staff working on grant management-related topics.
Travel Requirements: The role requires some international travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate all processes and deliverables related to the grant agreements, including submitting the deliverables to the donors.
- Be the donors’ primary contact person on grant management issues and advise the Program Director on strategic issues (including budget issues) and decisions related to the grants.
- Lead the IRI annual planning and reporting processes on IRI-specific grant agreements in line with RFN procedures.
- Contribute to developing grant management tools, templates, and procedures in RFN to continually improve the grant management processes.
- Ensure monitoring, evaluation and learning for the program
Tasks may include:
- Support the five IRI country programs with strategies, action plans and cross-country learning
- Support with the coordination of IRI global events and intervention strategies.
- Contribute to the expansion and growth of IRI, both in terms of partners and funders
Qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Higher education desirable
- In-depth understanding and multiple years of experience with donor and aid-schemes
- In-depth understanding of results-based management systems and demonstrated ability to carry out project and program management. This includes excellent finance /budget management skills.
- Excellent ability to work across an organization to motivate and influence others. This includes a proven track record facilitating complex applications, reports, or events.
- Good facilitation skills and experience carrying out presentations for donors or other stakeholders.
- Language and communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Knowledge of IRI country languages (Spanish, French, Bahasa and Portuguese) will be considered important assets.
- A conscientious and structured person with strong planning and administrative skills, including computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)

- Willing and able to travel in the field and work with partners when needed.
- The capability to “translate” between positions and across cultural divides to make people pull in the same direction.
