Zaptec is looking for a Product Designer!

We are looking for a Product Designer with an urge to deliver sublime products and services that enriches the everyday life of electrical car users worldwide. Together with our ambitious team, you will get a central role in the creative and strategic direction of our products and services by driving insight-based, user-centric design, and development ⚡️

As a Product Designer at Zaptec, you will lead the design work within one of our domain-focused Agile teams. The Product Designers are champions of the user’s experience, and it is their expertise, skill, and advocacy that helps us set a high standard for user-centered design.

In particular, this is what you might spend your time doing:

• Understanding User Needs: Maintain a deep understanding of our users through ongoing engagement and research.
• Design and Development of User Interfaces: Define and refine the main purpose of the Zaptec App and Portal and ensure the UI of these platforms is intuitive, consistent, and meets the needs of our target audience.
• Innovative Solution Crafting: Proactively suggest and implement creative solutions to enhance user experience, using our design system to develop impactful designs.
• Collaborative Work Approach: Work effectively with cross-functional teams to create and implement cohesive design solutions.
• Contribute to our design system & ensure its consistent implementation across products and touchpoints.
• Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Be a creative challenger, bringing fresh and innovative ideas to the design process and pushing boundaries to enhance the user experience.

As a Product Designer, you’ll be a leader in shaping both our customer experience and the design direction within your teams. Your work will directly impact our customers—our target audience is everyone. You’ll also serve as the design leader within your team, collaborating closely with Product Owners and Developers to bring design concepts to life.

Some skills we value

• Background of UX or UI design, working in-house or in a consultancy. We’re looking for a Designer who can lead a full process – from thought to pixel.
• You must be comfortable working within a highly technical field. There are many technical experts at Zaptec who are here to guide and teach you, but you must be excited and motivated about your learning journey.
• Excellent collaboration skills

We also believe you have

• Familiarity with the methodologies and ways-of-work of product-companies. In particular, an understanding of agile development processes and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams will be a major advantage (at Zaptec, we follow SAFe).
• Experience working with design tools such as Figma, sketch, or similar. (this is a must – we need a hands-on designer, not a researcher).
• Full professional written and verbal English.
