We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to strengthen our Legal Department in Oslo or Stavanger.

Your Impact:
In this role, you will shape Aibel’s legal strategies for some of the world’s most ambitious energy projects, spanning Offshore Wind, oil and gas, electrification, and beyond. You will ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and drive success in a rapidly evolving industry, working closely with Business Units and Corporate Management. Responsibilities and tasks include:

• Manage and administer legal services within the company framework, including legal support related to contract law (study, engineering, procurement, and/or construction contracts and related legal matters), company law, compliance, employment law, mergers and acquisitions, consortiums/JVs, and statutory requirements for countries where Aibel operates or plans to enter.
• Lead legal process streams in tenders, including drafting contracts/qualifications, participating in negotiations, and advising management on contractual risks, proposed strategies, and mitigation plans.
• Support project management during execution, claims handling, and mitigation by providing proactive advice and solutions.
• Engage and manage external legal advisors when required, coordinating with the General Counsel to ensure alignment with budgets and strategic goals.
• Provide training in contractual and legal matters to enhance organizational competence.
• Handle legal disputes, including amicable settlements, negotiations, and preparation and handling of potential court cases.

Qualifications:

• Law degree from a recognized university.
• Post-graduate certificates relevant to the role of Senior Legal Counsel.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant post-qualification experience from a law firm, in-house legal departments, or other legal positions.
