Crew Manager to Oslo office
Overall Purpose of The Job:
This role is accountable for the flawless delivery of crew management and crewing operations activities within the assigned fleet cell.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
• Works closely with the Fleet Cell and the Crew Management Centre to ensure service delivery as per contract with the customers and escalate performance issues where required. This pertains to all stages of the customer journey, starting with onboarding new customers/fleets.
• Functions as the point of contact in escalation of all crew matters between the Fleet Managers and the Crew Management organization. Supports the Fleet Cell in managing the crew in respect of on board performance and procedures
• Ensures that Crew Management deliver upon the KPI’s agreed between customer, Fleet Cell and Crew Management, which includes budget ownership for crewing operations.
• Schedules and reports regular service performance and budget reviews in line with expectations agreed with the customer and recommend actions to support continuous improvement
• Responsible for the crewing elements of the budget, and reporting and negotiating with the customer in cooperation with the Fleet Manager.
• Proactively identifies crew retention risks and issues, and works with appropriate stakeholders to mitigate the risks and address issues
• Drives the diligent usage of ShipSure as “system of record” for all crewing activities
• Guides Vessel Coordinator in planning for crew changes
• Responsible for industrial relations for assigned fleet
• Assists HSSEQ in accident investigations related to crewing and the implementation of corrective/preventive action.
Essential
• 5 years Maritime or Shipping industry experience knowledge as supplier, manager or owner.
• Excellent knowledge of all aspects of Crew Operations
• English and Norwegian language skills (verbal and written)
• Excellent knowledge of Norwegian payroll processes / HR practices / maritime crewing
• Knowledge of Norwegian maritime labor laws and regulations
• Proven experience in a combined Crewing and Payroll role
• Proficiency in payroll management software
• Demonstrable customer service mindset and experience
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Strong collaboration and influencing skills with the ability to make change happen
• An effective and positive communicator and team player / leader
