TGS is looking for a Vessel Superintendent to join the Fleet Management team in Oslo, Norway.
As a Vessel Superintendent, you will be responsible for the long-term management and overall day-to-day management of assigned vessels including Technical, Maintenance, HSEQ, Crewing, Flag, Class and Finance.
Reporting to VP Fleet Management, you will be jointly accountable with Operations Manager for the quality of service to the VMT, quality of operational planning, execution and accurate timelines of vessel operations and non-production activity such as yard stays, transits, pit stops as well as project risk management, efficiency, cost, and commercial performance. You will also be jointly accountable with the Operations Manager for maintaining the continuity and integrity of the vessel operation from one project to the next.
As one of the leaders of the VMT (or alternate to Operations Manager), the Vessel Superintendent is responsible for coordination and cooperation with other Internal units as well as ensuring good communication between all relevant stakeholders and departments.
Main Responsibilities
Maritime Performance & Management:
• Responsible for effective and optimal maritime performance, and management of assigned vessels, as well as providing support to the organization in maritime related matters as assigned.
• Operationally responsible for optimal maritime technical performance including leading the implementation and execution of maintenance strategies on assigned vessels.
• Operationally responsible to ensure assigned vessels has required equipment and are capable of effectively use it in any SAR situation.
• Operationally responsible for maintenance and performance on assigned vessels.
• Operationally responsible for leading assigned maritime technical projects. Responsible for ensuring that assigned projects adhere to a high standard, are delivered as agreed, and that maritime support is provided to major upgrades, new builds, internal and external clients as required.
• Operationally responsible ensuring that assigned vessels have an effective and optimal maritime crew offshore at all times.
• Operationally responsible for planning and execution of repairs, port calls and yard stays including 5-year plans and lifetime management of assigned vessels.
HSEQ:
• Operationally responsible for assigned vessels compliance to relevant mandatory laws, rules, and regulations, including maintaining applicable certifications.
• Operationally responsible for ensuring PGS is an industry leader in Maritime HSEQ performance.
• Operationally responsible for PGS Emergency Response for assigned vessels which includes ensuring that it is efficient and to the highest standard. Member of PGS emergency response team and if / when required leading the Team.
Finance:
• Operationally responsible for maritime OPEX and give input to CAPEX on assigned vessels.
Organization:
• Responsible to contribute to a motivated, effective, and high performing maritime support department.
• Effectively and proactively promote One Culture.
Key Competencies:
• Experienced Superintendent, Project Manager, Captain, or Chief Engineer.
• University or College degree in maritime or technical discipline. Experience as Captain or Chief Engineer may compensate for lack of formal education.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills.
• Strong project management and leadership skills.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines.
• Solid and proven work co-ordination skills.
• Travel will be a part of the position.
• Safety course and HUET course is a must (will be provided by PGS as applicable).
• To have or obtain Offshore Medical is a requirement.
