We are looking for new members of the team of our new shop in Sandvika
Barista / Pastry shop attendant
1. Customer Service:
- Greeting customers: Welcoming customers when they enter the shop.
- Taking orders: Assisting customers in selecting items, taking their orders, and making recommendations based on what’s available.
- Providing product information: Explaining the ingredients, flavors, and special dietary options, such as gluten-free or vegan pastries.
- Handling payments: Operating the cash register and processing payments, whether through cash, card, or other methods.
- Packaging items: Packaging pastries carefully and making sure orders are completed correctly.
2. Pastry Handling:
- Displaying pastries: Ensuring that baked goods are presented in an attractive and organized manner in the display cases.
- Stocking shelves: Replenishing stock as needed throughout the day.
- Preparing simple items: you may assist in preparing certain items, like sandwiches and smoothies
- Maintaining freshness: Ensuring that all items on display are fresh and properly stored to prevent waste.
3. Coffe :
- Maintain cleanliness of the coffee bar, equipment, and customer seating areas
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed
- Educate customers about different coffee beans, brewing methods, and drink options
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations
4. Maintaining Cleanliness and Organization:
- Cleaning the shop: Ensuring the shop stays clean and tidy, including countertops, floors, and customer seating areas.
- Organizing storage: Keeping supplies and ingredients neatly stored and ensuring that all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
5. Handling Special Orders:
- Custom orders: Taking orders for special occasions like birthdays, weddings, or corporate events. This may involve recording specific requests and ensuring that they are accurately fulfilled.
- Preparing orders for pickup or delivery: Preparing custom orders and getting them ready for customers who place advance orders.
6. Inventory Management:
- Stocking ingredients: Keeping track of ingredients and supplies
- Checking for expiration dates: Ensuring that products are not expired and managing stock rotation.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in customer service or food service is preferred
- God communication skills in Norwegian
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly attitude
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for pastries and good food
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift light to moderate items
Assistant pastry chef/ Assistant baker
Responsibilities:
- preparing a variety of pastries, cakes, cookies, breads, and other baked goods
- Follow recipes, portioning, and presentation standards while maintaining consistency and quality
- Ensure all ingredients are measured accurately and prepared for production
- Assist with the preparation and decoration of cakes, cupcakes, pastries, and other sweet treats
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, utensils, and equipment throughout the day
- Monitor inventory levels and help with stock replenishment
- Support the team with baking during peak times and special orders
- Help maintain a safe and organized working environment in compliance with health and safety standards
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a bakery or pastry kitchen environment (at least 1-2 years preferred)
- Knowledge of pastry and baking techniques, including doughs, fillings, and decorations
- A strong passion for baking and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure, particularly during busy periods
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Flexibility and willingness to learn and take on new tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
- Culinary school or formal training in baking or pastry arts
- Experience with specialty or dietary baking (gluten-free, vegan, etc.)as a plus, not mandatory
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
