The GS52 is an extraordinary sailing machine. Every trimming line has its own dedicated winch. The whole deck layout is extremely well thought out and ensures minimum friction. All equipment is really oversized which makes sure of easy handling. All three sails are fully hydraulically operated from the wheel position, with inmast furling and also hydraulic primary winches. Note also her 90 degrees spreaders which makes her perfect for downwind sailing. You won’t have the usual problem with back swept spreaders where chafe is unavoidable.
With the two-cockpit layout, she is extra suitable for having more friends on board as they seem to spread out between the two cockpits. The forward cockpit seems to be used a lot more than you would think and is the natural place for the first coffee in the morning or a late evening drink. We often cruise two families, total of 8, in complete comfort.
The accommodation entrance is at the highest level so big waves should seldom find their way there (But I have never had such bad conditions). The feeling of sailing this big boat can only be experienced. From the enormous wheel you have superb view forward and you can sit comfortably on both sides or in the middle in the heeled seating. The touch is light, and the boat is well balanced and responds like a small racing boat because of the big rudder. If you have experience with for example modern 40 feet boats, in my case the Hanse 400e, the motion in sea cannot be compared. The GS52 is like a train and is just perfect for cutting through the usual short waves in the Med. The Hanse 400e had a quick and uncomfortable motion in comparison.
In a typical open Ibiza anchorage, you will enjoy sitting looking at most other boats rolling from side to side while your GS52 only has a slow and gentle pitching. This is an activity I do quite often actually! Fuel and water tanks are under the floorboards, which adds to stability. The keel is very deep at 2,7m with a 7,5 ton lead bulb at the end.
In my experience, build quality of boats built in 1990 is better than today. Another point which I find important is that every place there is something behind the interior wood, there is a small hatch for inspection or repair. That cannot be said about many modern designs, where you have to make new hatches to get to the electronics which need to be fixed.
The accommodation is perfect for a big family or two families. There are more than enough shelves and storage everywhere. There is space everywhere to mount components like the bow thruster, generator, water maker, fridge, freezer, hydraulic sail handling, all included and in perfectly working order.
The accommodation is in surprisingly good condition and not much needs to be done. There are a total of 8 bunks, all with lee clothes fitted. Forward cabin port side there are two single bunk beds. Stb side there is a full size double bunk (retractable for even more space). There are 2 full size bunks in the salon and a superb Master cabin aft with double bed. See interior layout picture. There are two full size toilets with shower. The aft is electric toilet. The cabin all the way forward is converted to a work shop. You will not have to use the salon again while working on a pump etc.
The deck and sides need a good wash and polish. The yearly maintenance was not done last year due to time constraints. The teak deck is original. You can use it as it is now, but it should be planned to change it at some point if you want a new look.
Boat is sold as is.
Boat is used for light family sailing. Never racing.

Jeg er norsk statsborger bosatt i Valencia i Spania. Båten er registrert i Norsk Skipsregister. Visning etter avtale, jeg kan evt. hente på flyplassen i Valencia og så kjører vi sammen til båten. Fast bryggeplass kan medfølge mot tillegg i pris. Også mulighet for å leie brygga i kortere eller lengre periode. Båten er en drømmebåt for langtur eller ferie i Middelhavet. Men jeg blir nå desverre nødt til å selge pga økonomi og familiesituasjon. Båten selges slik den er, dvs at det kan være feil og mangler pga alder osv. Jeg vil selvfølgelig opplyse om det jeg vet om til evt ny kjøper.
