Imenco is hiring a Group HR Director
Imenco Group, a global supplier of products and services primarily for the maritime industry, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Group HR Director to join our team. With operations in Norway, the UK, USA, Brazil, and China, and a diverse workforce of 450 employees, we need a strategic HR leader to ensure consistent and effective HR policies across our organization.
This role offers a unique opportunity to:
Make a global impact: You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a comprehensive HR policy across all Imenco Group companies, impacting employees worldwide.
Shape our culture: You will play a key role in defining and strengthening the Imenco culture, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Drive organizational development: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement HR strategies that support Imenco's overall business objectives and growth.
Lead and mentor: Provide guidance and support to HR staff in the UK and Norway, fostering a strong and capable HR team.
Workplace is at our head office in Grinde, Tysvær.
Key tasks and responsibilities
As Group HR Director in Imenco you will have a variety of responsibilities, both operational and strategic development work. You will play a key role in shaping the company culture and contribute to the overall development of the organization. This includes establishing and maintaining a global HR policy, encompassing areas like pension and insurance plans, remuneration, discipline procedures, and industrial relations. You will also be involved in the process of identifying and implementing appropriate HR systems to support the company's needs.
Your main tasks will be to:
- Internal communication, including
- Ensuring a good relationship with unions and staff councils (AMU/BU)
- Employer branding
- Employer communication, (town halls, intranet etc)
- Ensuring a good relationship with unions and staff councils (AMU/BU)
- Ensure Personal Handbooks are in line with HR policy and up to date with relevant legislation
- Leadership training including supporting leaders/managers in their leadership roles
- Overall responsibility for Succession Planning and competence and carrier planning
Key qualifications
We are looking for someone who has extensive experience in HR from complex organizations and international environments. You have a higher education in HR or Management, or other related fields. You should have a deep understanding of developing and implementing HR policies and strategies.
To excel in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
- Substantial experience, with at least 5-8 years in a senior HR role and a proven track record of success.
- International work experience is highly valued, with experience in the UK being a strong advantage.
In addition to the above, the ideal candidate will possess:
- Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, coupled with the ability to translate business objectives into effective HR initiatives.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, enabling you to build rapport and influence at all levels.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach.
And finally, fluency in both English and Norwegian is essential for clear communication within our diverse workforce.
