Jacqueline Gougis was born in Dijon, France in 1926. At the age of 18 she showed at the Winter Exhibition in Paris. Since then, she has exhibited in France and the larger French towns and villages as well as abroad. She is especially influenced by the painting of Claude Monet. She chose to open her studio in Giverny France (the home of Monet's famous gardens) in 1986 and has since chosen to settle there. She is considered to be part of the impressionist revival movement in France. Jacqueline focuses on a feeling of freshness and profusion in her wonderful paintings
