Postdoctoral researcher - Low temperature water electrolysis
IFE’s department for Hydrogen Technology is continuing to grow and is looking for a new postdoctoral researcher (3 years). At the department, there is a long and unique competence on hydrogen, with R&D activities on water electrolysis, storage of hydrogen as a liquid or in solid compounds, fuel cells, and renewable energy-based hydrogen systems. The department hosts a national fuel cell and hydrogen laboratory for testing key hydrogen technologies and systems, and has specialized laboratories for the preparation, the characterization and the development of hydrogen materials and key components.
Key responsibilities
As a Postdoctoral researcher, you will engage in research focused on low-temperature PEM water electrolysis. Your main tasks will include:
- Advanced testing and characterization of water electrolyser stacks and single cells
- Development of new methods and algorithms for performance analysis and/or diagnostics
- Data analysis and reporting
- Majorly contribute to the EU project focusing on the development of next generation PEM electrolyser materials
- Publish results in leading peer-reviewed journals and present work at internationally relevant conferences.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with a formal background in electrochemistry and has experience with:
- Use of advanced electrochemical characterization techniques (EIS, CV, LSV etc.)
- Testing of water electrolysers in the laboratory environment
- Use of MatLab, Python and/or similar tools for data processing
Knowledge and experience with development of electrolyser materials and components such as membranes and catalyst layers will be an advantage.
