Senior Telecom Engineer – Exciting Opportunity in Offshore Oil & Gas Projects

Job Description

• Define and develop Telecom philosophy and design solutions for Telecom sub-systems, including remote operations, maintenance, monitoring, and the integration of new technologies.
• Follow up on telecom vendors and manage vendor technical documentation.
• Interface with other disciplines, suppliers, installations, and clients to ensure seamless project coordination.
• Develop and complete engineering documents and data registers.
• Participate in and contribute to relevant test activities.
• Define and prepare engineering documentation.
• Provide site support to the fabrication yard.

 

Qualification Requirements

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree, or other relevant technical education.
• EX course (max 5 years old).
• FSE course.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in Telecom engineering and system design activities within greenfield oil and gas projects on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
• Extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of telecom design in accordance with relevant standards such as NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, DNVGL, and IEC.
• Long relevant practical experience may compensate for a lack of formal education.
• Excellent communication skills, fluent in English.
• Cooperative attitude and ability to thrive in a multicultural team environment.
• A natural team player who can also work independently.
• Systematic, accurate, and detail-oriented with strong adherence to deadlines and quality requirements.
• Proactive, willing to seek advice and share own experiences.
• Innovative, with a desire to improve methodologies and solutions.
• Ability to understand and implement requirements stated in new standards.
