Project Engineer Automation

Jefferson Wells is looking for a Project Engineer Automation for our client ABB. In this role, you will apply your expertise in process dynamics and automation solutions to design, implement, and commission control systems for offshore and land-based industry projects. If you have experience with ABB control systems 800xA, PLC programming, and HMI design, this could be the right opportunity for you.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Apply process dynamics competence in the design, implementation, commissioning, and service of control systems for oil & gas production systems.
• Improve the efficiency and quality of work processes.
• Provide technical support for testing, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Develop PLC programming and HMI design.
• Establish system design, implement, and document solutions according to customer requirements.
• Engineering of automation solutions for offshore and land-based industry projects using ABB control systems 800xA.
• Participate in installation and commissioning.
• Install and set up IT infrastructure for automation systems.

For experienced applicants:

• Provide technical leadership in automation projects.
• Support technical sales efforts.

Background and Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in automation, cybernetics, or relevant engineering fields.
• Experience with PLC programming, HMI design, and control system engineering.
• Knowledge of ABB control systems, especially 800xA, is an advantage.
• Experience in industrial automation, oil & gas, or related industries.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in teams.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken; Norwegian language skills are an advantage.
