Exciting Opportunity as CFO at Ably Medical AS

Ably Medical AS, an innovative MedTech company headquartered in Norway, is seeking a strategic and results-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our leadership team, the CFO will play a critical role in driving financial performance, operational efficiency, and strategic growth.

With offices in Oslo, Ålesund, Denmark, and Germany, our 17 colleagues work across development, sales, marketing, delivery, and customer support. Our products, such as LYNG OEM and LYNG One, utilize cutting-edge sensor technology for precise, contactless vital sign monitoring. Ably is at an exciting growth stage, combining research, development, and commercialization to set new standards in health technology.

About the Role

The CFO will oversee all financial and economic operations at Ably Medical and lead the business support organization, which includes administration, HR, finance, IT, accounting, and ESG. Currently, accounting is outsourced to an external company in Norway. The CFO will report directly to the CEO (based in Denmark) and collaborate with cross-border peers.

Initial objectives include defining and building efficient financial processes, including reporting, cash flow forecasting, and budget follow-up to establish a foundation for growth.

The CFO will also play a critical role in capital-raising activities, working closely with the CEO to prepare business plans, P&L budgets (long and short-term), and due diligence materials.

As a member of the management team, the CFO will contribute to various change management initiatives and help shape the company’s strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with Norwegian accounting laws and regulations.
• Develop and execute capital-raising strategies, including investor relations and due diligence processes.
• Manage corporate finances across borders (inside and outside the EU).
• Oversee IT systems and infrastructure as part of the business support organization.
• Provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to support company growth.
• Build and maintain relationships with investors and stakeholders.
• Lead risk management initiatives and establish robust internal controls.

About You

We are looking for a strategic and hands-on financial leader who thrives in an innovative and fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• A master’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field.
• 6-8 years of experience in finance, preferably in roles such as: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) or Finance Director in a growth-oriented company. Financial Controller or Head of Finance with significant exposure to capital raising and consolidated accounts. Investor Relations Manager or a similar role with responsibility for managing stakeholder relationships. Corporate Finance Advisor or experience in M&A or private equity environments.
• Extensive experience in capital raising, investor relations, and corporate finance.
• In-depth knowledge of Norwegian accounting laws and financial regulations.
• Proven experience managing international finances and operations, preferably in MedTech, technology, or manufacturing industries.
• Strong leadership skills, with a track record of team development and motivation.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in Norwegian and English (German is a plus).
