Exciting opportunity for an experienced Telecom Engineer

Telecom/Senior Engineer – Oil & Gas 

Jefferson Wells is looking for an experienced Telecom Engineer to join our client’s team in a large offshore greenfield/brownfield project within the telecom discipline. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a major project, develop technical expertise in telecommunication systems design, and work in an international environment.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Define and develop telecom philosophy and design solutions for telecom subsystems, including remote operations, maintenance, monitoring, and new technologies.
• Follow up on telecom vendors and vendors' technical documentation.
• Interface with other disciplines, suppliers, installations, and the client.
• Develop and complete engineering documents and data registers.
• Participate in and contribute to relevant test activities.
• Provide site support to the fabrication yard.

Background and Qualifications

Education:

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field.
• Ex course (valid, max 5 years old).
• FSE course.

Experience:

• Minimum 6 years of experience in Telecom engineering and telecom system design within greenfield oil and gas projects on the Norwegian continental shelf.
• Strong knowledge of telecom design according to NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, DNVGL, and IEC standards.
• Long relevant practical experience may compensate for a lack of formal education.

• Systematic, accurate, and committed to meeting deadlines and quality requirements.
• Proactive, with a willingness to seek advice and share knowledge.
• Innovative and eager to improve methodologies and solutions.
