Senior Technical Safety Engineer – Shape the Future of Offshore Safety!

Job Description

• Perform detailed design and modification tasks on safety systems in various projects.
• Provide expertise in Passive Fire Protection (PFP) and Active Fire Protection (AFP).
• Oversee Area Classification and Ignition Source Control.
• Manage Fire and Gas Detection systems.
• Ensure effective planning for Escape, Evacuation, and Rescue (EER).
• Ensure Safety Integrity Levels (SIL) are appropriately defined and implemented.
• Define fluid groups and Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) compliance.
• Support Working Environment Engineering and Environmental Care Engineering.
• Lead interdisciplinary coordination, checks, and verifications (IDC).
• Follow up on the work tasks according to the company’s and client’s governing documentation.
• Provide clear input regarding cost and planning activities for safety aspects of the project.
• Identify and facilitate required risk and verification activities such as HAZID, WEHRA, and design reviews.
• Follow-up with clients, vendors, and third parties to ensure project success.

 

Qualification Requirements

• Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Technical Safety or a related discipline. Relevant work experience can be considered in lieu of formal education
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in offshore design and modification work in Norway.
• Knowledge of Ptil requirements, ISO, and NORSOK standards is essential.
• Strong self-learning skills and the ability to adapt to new information and challenges.
• Proficiency in both Norwegian (preferred) and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
• In-depth awareness of Ptil requirements, ISO, and NORSOK standards.
