This is the original HUI controller with 3x mic pre amps, 3in/3out monitor controller (like having a built-in Mackie "Big Knob"), headphone amplifier, assignable foot switches, talkback mic and mouse & keyboard extender sockets.

Everything works as it should including the channel LED bar meters, LCDs, 8 motorised faders, Pan & EQ encoders and monitor out & volume potentiometers.

As this is pre-USB there are no drivers to install and therefore no risk of it being left obsolete due to drivers not being supported by future operating systems (like the Tascam US-2400 for example), however you'll need a MIDI interface with 1x in and 1x out to connect it to your workstation.

The HUI standard is still supported by many DAWs but please check that it's compatible with your system before buying.

Yes, the later Mackie Controls are smaller, but this is also a monitor controller, headphone amplifier and Mic pre-amp too with clear LED VU meters per channel and better placed "digital scribble strip" displays right above the faders.
