We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer with a background in Engineering, Information Management, or Computer Science. The ideal candidate will be passionate about data standardisation and contextualisation and will have the ability to develop and implement information models. We welcome applications from both experienced professionals and recent graduates, or those with less experience, who are eager to learn and grow with us. What will you be doing?
- Develop and implement information models aligned with Aker Solutions' 7-step modelling process framework.
- Collaborate with the Information Modelling team, Data Operations, our suppliers such as Cognite and Aize, and subject matter experts to support individual use case implementations.
- Apply expertise in engineering and data domains across the energy sector project lifecycle.
- Utilize NEAT (www.thisisneat.io) modelling tools to create and refine complex information models, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Verify and validate new data requirements, maintain and expand Lifecycle Information (LCI) and Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) applications and scale solutions for new projects.
- Ensure data integrity and availability across our applications for systems engineering, 3D design, procurement and project management.
- Create domain and solution models that deliver contextualized data within the Cognite Data Fusion (CDF) platform.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and data verification to ensure high-quality model implementation.
- Utilize industry standards as reference models.
We think you should have:
- Education: Degree in Engineering, Information Management, or Computer Science is an advantage but not required. Familiarity with digital tools and technologies is a plus.
- Industry Experience: Project experience with energy asset management, or industrial type operations. Understanding of EPC projects.
- Analytical & Critical Thinking: Ability to analyse complex data, identify patterns, and structure data effectively.
- Problem-Solving: Strong skills in ensuring data integrity, quality, and performance.
- Communication: Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and collaborate with teams and stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy and reliability in data models.
- Interest in Digital Standardization: Passion for data structuring, classification, and interoperability to create business value.
- Technical Skills: While not required, familiarity with at least some of the NORSOK, CFIHOS, Information Model Framework (IMF), ISO 15926, ISO 14224 is preferred. Understanding of programming-, query languages and database technologies would be advantageous.
