We are now looking for a Senior Tender Engineer who wants to strengthen our team and be part of the exciting journey that has just started.
As a Senior Tender Engineer, Umbilical & Cable Systems Business line, you will play a crucial role in supporting the tendering and early engagement process, ensuring technical excellence and cost efficiency. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and clients to develop innovative and competitive solutions for subsea production systems. Your responsibilities will cover both tender engineering and early engagement engineering, where you will apply your expertise to evaluate project requirements, design solutions, and drive successful tender submissions. What will you be doing?
Tender Engineering:
- Analyze and interpret client requirements, specifications, and technical documentation to develop tailored solutions.
- Conduct early-phase umbilical engineering, including cross-section design, manufacturing setup, transportation, and packing arrangements.
- Lead and facilitate design review meetings with senior product experts to ensure technical feasibility.
- Collaborate with supply chain and cost estimation teams to define project cost structures and optimize proposals.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality technical documentation for tenders and front-end studies.
- Ensure tender scope is well-defined, planned, and executed in alignment with client expectations and industry standards.
- Act as a key technical liaison, providing expertise in internal coordination meetings and client discussions, including technical negotiations.
- Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities to enhance project execution strategies.
- Provide structured and effective written and verbal communication to keep the team and management informed.
- Recommend and drive improvements to engineering processes and design methodologies.
- Manage individual workstreams with a strong sense of accountability, working both independently and as part of a team.
Early Engagement Engineering
- Participate in and lead engineering studies for both greenfield and brownfield projects across various development phases.
- Provide technical engineering support to sales and business development teams.
- Engage with cross-disciplinary teams within OneSubsea to align client needs with our technology portfolio.
- Collaborate with client representatives to translate functional requirements into innovative and practical solutions.
- Present clear and compelling development concepts, proposals, and technical recommendations to clients at all project stages.
- Actively participate in internal and external meetings, representing OneSubsea with professionalism and technical expertise.
We think you should have:
- Educational Background: BSc or MSc in an engineering discipline. Relevant work experience may supersede formal education requirements.
- Industry Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering roles within the oil and gas, energy, or subsea industry.
- Technical Expertise: Prior experience with subsea hardware, cables or umbilicals is strongly preferred.
- Tender & Proposal Experience: Ability to contribute effectively to bid preparation and proposal development.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex technical concepts clearly.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant industry standards (preferred but not required).
- Problem-Solving Ability: Analytical mindset with the ability to identify challenges and develop creative solutions.
- Work Ethic & Flexibility: Ability to manage workload variations, adapt to new challenges, and maintain a proactive approach.
- Career Aspirations: Eager to develop into a key engineering expert within the department by actively contributing to continuous improvement and engaging in technical discussions.
