Up for your consideration is a Nikon made 1.4 teleconverter. The accessory will make the F-mount lens you use with it 1.4X stronger. This converter is an excellent choice as the image quality is only reduced a minute amount, you will hardly notice any image degradation. Your 500mm lens will now be a 700mm lens, or your 300mm lens will be a 420mm lens, and so on. The contacts are clean and so is the glass. You will lose 1 stop with this converter, so your 2.8 lens will now be a 4. There is a newer version of this converter (TC-14lll), but the difference is not noticeable. They operate in the same manner and are equally good in my opinion.
