As a Software Engineer at Rheinmetall Nordic AS you will be specializing in software for Robotics and Autonomy systems. You will play a key role in developing and implementing innovative AI-driven solutions. You will work on exciting projects that challenge the status quo and contribute to the advancement of autonomous systems. Helping to develop the next generation of products for the defense sector.

About the position:
Your core tasks will include:
- Develop, integrate and maintain software solutions for robotics and autonomous systems
- Develop, integrate and maintain tactical HMI's for our Situational Awareness solutions
- Manage system architectures and associated subsystem interfaces
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex technical challenges
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and autonomy and apply this knowledge to your work
- Contribute to the development of high-quality, scalable, and efficient software
- Optimize and enhance existing AI models and algorithms for better performance
- Develop and maintain documentation for AI models, algorithms, and software
Location:
Our main office is located at Nøtterøy until summer 2026, after that we will be moving to newly renovated offices in Skoppum, both in Vestfold, Norway. The position can be located either at our main office, or our office in central Oslo, Solli plass. This will depend on the background and preference of the candidate.
We believe this is you:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science, software engineering or similar field
- Proven experience in software development with a focus on AI, robotics and autonomous systems
- Passionate about innovation, AI, autonomous systems and problem-solving.
- Experience with Embedded programming is desirable, as well as software life-cycle management and Agile methods.
- Self-driven, structured, and analytical mindset.
- Comfortable with spoken and written English.
- Willingness to accept a security clearance if needed.
- You are a dedicated team player.
- Industry knowledge from the defence, automotive or aerospace industry is an advantage but not required.
