The Opportunity in a Nutshell
In the Data Platform area within the Data & Productivity Platforms, the focus is on enabling self-serve data management, discovery, and utilisation of data across the organisation. This area provides the foundational capabilities that allow various teams to seamlessly access, manage, and leverage data for analytics, AI development, personalisation, and advertising.The platform capabilities primarily serves internal teams by enabling them to unlock the value of data in a scalable and efficient manner.

Role? As a Data Engineer/Kafka Administrator, you will help with driving the strategy, development, and success of these data platform capabilities. You will play a key role in ensuring our Verticals can fully harness the potential of data to fuel business growth and innovation.
Team? Our newly-formed Data Platform is embarking on a journey towards Data Mesh, where shared data is discoverable, addressable, trustworthy, and secure. As a member of our team, you’ll work closely with other teams within the Nordic Marketplaces to provide custom vertical functions, while also helping to build decentralised data products using our centralised Event Stream. In our team, we work together towards our goals, and are keen to make each other better. Location? Our hybrid work approach means we want you to join us in our vibrant and colourful office in Oslo 2-3 days per week to meet with the team. The team very much enjoys hanging out together at our awesome teamspaces in the office, and we hope you do too.

Additionally, you have:
- Hands on experience with Kafka, and managed services providers such as Aiven, Confluent. Knowledge of Kotlin is a plus, but not required.
- Good understanding of the principles of Data Mesh.
- Knowledge of Java and the JVM platform
- Proven experience using Terraform for cloud infrastructure automation.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience working in an agile environment (Scrum, Kanban etc)
- A high degree of effective, proactive communication skills in english, both verbally and in written form
