VP Industrialization

Vianode is seeking a Vice President of Industrialization who is responsible for maturing process technologies to an industrial level. We are looking for a candidate who can start as soon as possible, with applications reviewed continuously until the right individual is selected.

Vianode is an advanced battery materials company providing sustainable anode graphite solutions for the battery and EV value chains in North America and Europe. Vianode’s breakthrough solution enables tailored high-performance synthetic anode graphite and holistic sustainability offering a 90% reduction in CO2 footprint. Vianode operates the world's most sustainable full-scale anode graphite plant for batteries at Herøya, Norway. The next step involves executing multi-billion dollar phased investment program dedicated to establishing large-scale plants across North America and Europe. Vianode’s long-term ambition is to supply advanced battery materials to 3 million EVs per year by 2030. Vianode is owned by the world-leading industrial and financial companies Hydro and Altor.

You will have a central function in the company’s COO leadership team. This position reports to the COO. Preferably, this position is based in Kristiansand, but Herøya and Oslo can be considered.

Main responsibilities:

• The main purpose and responsibility of the role is to mature process technologies to industrial level

• Responsible for actively maturing technology ideas and technology improvements from Vianode’s R&D and process technology environment to a level robust enough and sufficiently verified for use in full-scale commercial plants (as modifications in existing plants or in Capex projects for future plants)

• Responsible for developing supply chain alternatives for new industrialized technology elements

• Responsible for connecting Vianode's research and development team with operations and capital expenditure projects, focusing on identifying, developing, and scaling new process technologies and technological improvements to an industrial level.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

• Extensive experience in industrialization, manufacturing, or process engineering roles.

• Proven track record of successfully leading industrialization projects from concept to commercial production.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities and proficiency in English language.

• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and supply chain management.

• Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

• Ability to manage budgets and achieve operational targets as well as excellent planning skills.

• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and safety standards.

• Keen interest in EVs, batteries, and battery materials, ideally experience within our industry.

• Knowledge of advanced manufacturing technologies and automation.
