Nord Destination Management Company AS is a dynamic and innovative company based in Kristiansand. We specialize in creating tailor-made travel experiences, offering incoming tourism services, shore excursions, and customized itineraries for travelers exploring Norway. Additionally, we operate souvenir shops in Kristiansand and Molde, as well as a café in Kristiansand, and serve as the official tourist information provider in Molde.
We are now looking for an experienced and dedicated Department Head to lead our DMC Department and drive growth, innovation, and operational excellence.
As the Department Head of the DMC Department, you will be responsible for overseeing and developing our incoming tourism operations, ensuring high-quality services, and fostering strategic partnerships. You will be overseeing all travel & sales agents, managing supplier relationships, and working closely with our clients to deliver outstanding travel experiences in Norway in close collaboration with company management.
Job location
You will be working in the company headquarters and main offices in Markens Gate 4B in Kristiansand. Temporary remote work or working from home can be arranged, however the expectation is that the department head is present in the office by default.
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute business strategies to expand and enhance our DMC services.
- Operations Management: Oversee daily operations and enabling your team to work efficiently
- Sales & Business Development: Identify new market opportunities, build relationships with international travel partners, and drive revenue growth, attending trade shows and conferences internationally
- Team Leadership: Support the DMC team in maintaining excellent service standards.
- Supplier & Partner Relations: Establish and maintain strong collaborations with suppliers, hotels, transportation providers, and activity operators.
- Quality & Customer Experience: Ensure all services meet high-quality standards and provide exceptional guest experiences.
- Hands-on: Lead by example and partake in creating unique itineraries and selling experiences to our international guests
- Industry Knowledge: A strong understanding of inbound tourism, group travel, and FITs is a big plus
- Sales & Negotiation Skills: Proven experience in business development, contract negotiations, and supplier management.
- Leadership Qualities: Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
- Customer-Oriented: Passionate about delivering exceptional travel experiences.
- Multilingual: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Norwegian and other languages is a plus.
- Digital competency: Comfortable with booking systems, CRM tools, and digital communication platforms.
