The digitalization team works across all business areas and companies in the VENI Energy Group and with that drive the digital transformation of the Group. The digitalization team is a critical enabler for future growth of the Group. 

We have started building a new and innovative data & technology platform and a digitalization environment that focuses both back-end and front-end system development and improved ways of working within the tech teams and the business. While many aspects need to be handled to further improve our digital capabilities, one key element of our ambitious digitalization strategy is to ramp up a secure and scalable tech platform that increases the speed of development for our digital products & solutions. We are prepared to make the necessary investments to achieve this goal in the coming years. 

To achieve our digital strategy, we are seeking skilled colleagues to join our digitalization team. As a platform engineer with relevant technical experience, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of digital product development at VENI Energy Group. In this position, you will take on the responsibilities for operating and further developing our hybrid cloud platform and developer experience services. You will be an integral part of a team of professionals and work jointly with internal and external developers. The position reports to the Head of Technology. This new position will have a tentative start after the summer in August 2025.

Your position

Overall: 

• Operational responsibilities for our on-prem and cloud environments in collaboration with the other members of the Technology team 
• Be a key participant in development projects delivering cloud infrastructure and services

Architectural Design & Planning:

• Contribute to translation of business requirements into technical specs & solution architectures
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify requirements and constraints
• Evaluate tools and solution architectures to ensure technical scalability & security compliance
• Work with solution owners to support future business requirements
• Understand business drivers and help design enterprise solutions to achieve targeted outcomes

Technical Implementation and Maintenance:

• Ensure the reliability and stability of our on-prem and cloud environment
• Oversee the smooth functioning and performance of our Data & Analytics applications
• Develop, maintain, and operate our Azure infra and services to enable seamless workflows
• Utilize Terraform Cloud for managing infrastructure as code (IaC) practices
• Implement and manage monitoring and observability solutions using Grafana
• Engage with our DevOps environment using tools such as Slack, GitHub, and Miro for communication, collaboration, documentation, CI/CD, and task/project management
• Contribute to our DevOps culture by assisting in improvements of Developer Experience by selecting and implementing appropriate tooling and processes
• Contribute to development and management of well-functioning apps, API’s and services that are fast, reliable, scalable and secure 
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade software
• Stay updated on development trends, programming languages and continuously optimize the infrastructure development process 
• Write, review and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code; review/create documentation

Your profile

Experience:

• Relevant education within IT or the interface between "IT and business." This can be in computer science, software engineering, data science, business technology
• 2+ years experience in delivering digital solutions or from an operational tech/IT organization as platform engineer or fullstack developer
• Understanding of both business/user perspectives and technical aspects
• Analytical problem solver; structured; strong conceptual thinker 
• Excellent communication skills: English and Scandinavian languages based on collaboration with both Nordic and English-speaking environments internally and externally
• Sense of urgency and high drive & work capacity; collaboration oriented
• Self-going and curious; proactively seeks information and skilling from int./ext. resources 
• Personality in line with the Group's core values: customer focus, commitment and reliability

Technical skills:

• Experience or good understanding of Terraform Cloud or similar IaC tools and CI/CD practices
• Knowledge of various backend development languages/technologies like Python, C# and .Net
• Good understanding of various database technologies (e.g., MS SQL, various MS Azure options)
• Experience with MS Azure Cloud Services and Development Tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub, Azure API management, MS Fabric)
• Having used IaC is advantageous, but not required if the technical skills are satisfactory
• Deep knowledge of key aspects in tech infrastructure like integration, network & security 
• Understanding and knowledge of system various development methodologies (such as agile software development, rapid prototyping, DevOps)
• Experience with monitoring and observability of solutions is a plus (e.g., Grafana)
