The digitalization team works across all business areas and companies in VENI Energy Group and with that drive the digital transformation of the Group. Our goal is to build a flexible, scalable, and cloud-based technology platform on top of which we can deliver new and innovative services to our customers and drive effectiveness in internal operations. The digitalization team is a critical enabler for future growth of the Group.
We have started building new and innovative solutions and a digitalization environment that focuses on both back-end and front-end development and improved ways of working within the tech teams and the business. While many aspects need to be handled to further improve our digital capabilities, one key element of our ambitious digitalization strategy is delivering high value data products & services to the entire Group.
To achieve this, we need highly skilled talent to join the digitalization team. You will be a key player in the Data and Analytics team and contribute to building the most valuable element – our new, group-wide data platform built on top of state-of-the art technology.
The position reports to the Head of Data & Analytics. This new position will have a tentative start after the summer in August 2025.
Your position
Overall:
- You participate in complex data projects, encompassing both data engineering & AI/ML domains
- You will be responsible for query optimization and the development of ETL/ELT pipelines
- You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, and business units, to address data needs and implement solutions that support the company's strategic goals
Data engineering:
- Develop and implement data models on our data platform, utilizing tools such as PySpark, Python, and dbt
- Build and maintain ETL pipelines that are both stable and scalable
- You will participate in maintaining and improving data quality, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability in the organization's data resources
AI/ML:
- Drive our AI/ML journey forward, taking responsibility for improving and maintaining our existing AI/ML solutions
- Innovation and growth: You will stay proactively updated on industry trends, particularly within the AI/ML space, and implement innovative solutions when appropriate
Your profile
Experience:
- Relevant education within IT or the interface between "IT and business." This can be in computer science, software engineering, data science, business technology, industrial economics, business administration, or other relevant university education
- 2+ years experience as a data engineer, data analyst or data scientist (or a combination), understanding both business/user perspectives and technical aspects
- Since you will be responsible for managing our AI/ML solution portfolio, some experience within the field is required
- Excellent communication skills: English and Scandinavian languages based on collaboration with both Nordic and English-speaking environments internally and externally
- Curious, innovative and willing to learn new things and/or share knowledge with others
- Self-driven, and enjoy working in cross functional and collaborative work environment
- Strong analytical skills, and a natural problem solver
- A good communicator, both written and orally, and contribute with positive energy
- Personality in line with the Group's core values: customer focus, commitment and reliability
- Experience from the energy industry is a plus
Technical skills:
- Experience working different database technologies and working on top of Azure Cloud platform
- Data engineering: Microsoft Fabric, .dbt, Python, PySpark, github, Azure DevOps, Github
- AI/ML: Microsoft ML Studio is an advantage, Tenserflow
- Understanding of methodologies within data warehousing (e.g., Data Vault, Lakehouse)
- Knowledge within DataOps and Data Security is an advantage
