The VARD IT organization consist of 70 employees globally, with 40 located in Norway.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Solutions Manager for our Engineering Solutions team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring effective application support for VARD’s engineering processes. This includes developing and implementing strategic plans for applications, providing user support, and overseeing the replacement or discontinuation of applications.

Duties and responsibilities
You will be part of the Application Operations team in VARD IT, taking the lead in service provisioning of mission critical engineering systems, helping business areas to take full advantage of the engineering applications and tools. You will get to work collaboratively with colleagues in IT, with our suppliers and with key business stakeholders to ensure system delivery is efficient, secure and user friendly and provided in a way that meets wider business needs. In this position, you will be contributing to the IT strategic planning for the Group, as well as planning, implementing, and supporting solutions in close collaboration with business areas and vendors. The position reports to the Head of Application Operations, Vard Group Digital Innovation & IT Department.
- Work actively to build a good working relationship with key representatives and stakeholders within the different business areas. Contribute to development of the IT strategy for the Group.
- Be an IT partner for the business, collecting and analysing business requirements related to process or system development. Translation of business requirements into demands.
- Teamlead for the resources involved in the Engineering Solutions
- Contribute to architecture design, development, and implementation of systems and applications.
- Supplier and contract management
- Project management
- Contribute to the IT project portfolio planning.
- Provide support through understanding and analysing user issues; fix problems and solve incidents.
- Participate in documentation as well as training of system users.
Qualifications
- Relevant higher education or documented relevant experience.
- Understanding of business processes and conceptual thinking.
- Management experience with the proven ability to lead teams and motivate others.
- Experience with senior stakeholder management, with the proven ability to act and influence on senior management level.
- Operational experience from engineering systems
- Experience with sourcing of services from external vendors and applying these as part of a project or operational delivery.
- Experience from business requirements gathering and specifications for IT systems/services.
- Experience with Project Management either as a project manager or as a project participant.
- Knowledge of cloud services and experience in the implementation and operation of cloud-based solutions.
- The ability and interest to adapt to new technologies and trends will be essential to maintaining an innovative and relevant IT strategy within the designated areas of responsibility.
- Proficiency in English communication
Not Essential, but an advantage
- Experience from IT supplier management.
- Experience with PRINCE2.
- Experience with ITIL and ITSM.
- Proficiency in communication in a Scandinavian language is advantageous
