About the Role

As a Senior UX Designer at Six Robotics, you'll have the unique opportunity to lead the design of our innovative Valkyrie Ground Control Station. This role involves crafting experiences that blend cutting-edge technology with user-centric design, ensuring that complex systems feel accessible and empowering to users. You'll be responsible for shaping Six Robotics' interaction design guidelines, nurturing an inclusive design system that reflects diverse user needs.

Here are some key aspects of your role:

• Design Leadership: Lead the design of the Valkyrie Ground Control Station, setting the standard for intuitive and efficient user experiences.

• Design System Development: Create and maintain our design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across our products.

• User-Centered Design: Conduct user research to understand operator workflows and translate insights into actionable design solutions.

Your work will involve close collaboration with engineers and product teams, bridging technical functionality and user needs through creative problem-solving. This collaboration will help you develop and iterate on prototypes and wireframes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and user-focused design. You'll also be responsible for crafting clear, production-ready documentation for seamless developer handoff, promoting effective communication across teams.

What We’re Looking For

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in interaction design, industrial design, human-computer interaction, or a related field. Solid experience can make up for a lack of formal education.

• Proven experience in designing HMIs or UX for complex systems, with a strong eye for UI aesthetics and functionality.

• A strong portfolio that showcases your interaction design skills and user-centered processes.

• Fluency in English; Norwegian language skills are a nice bonus.

• Residence and work permit in Norway (or willingness to relocate; we welcome international applicants but do not offer relocation assistance).
  

  *Security Clearance Requirement:

  All employees at Six Robotics are required to undergo a security clearance, due to our close collaboration with the Norwegian Armed Forces. While prior clearance is not necessary, a clearing process will be initiated as part of the onboarding period.
  

Bonus Skills

• Experience in designing control systems, HMIs, or similar domains.

• Experience in industries related to robotics, aerospace, or defense.

• Familiarity with usability testing methods and tools.

• Knowledge of visualization techniques for real-time data and decision-making interfaces.

• Experience working with hardware-integrated software systems.
