Office for Contemporary Art Norway (OCA) is seeking an experienced candidate for the position of Head of Programme. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading OCA’s public programme, developing the organisation’s position as a prominent contemporary arts institution, and identifying new opportunities. The successful candidate will contribute to evolving OCA’s programme with a strong interest in creating new platforms, models, structures, and ways to engage with international audiences.
As the Head of Programme, you will be responsible for the development and execution of OCA’s public programme and publishing while actively working across the organisation to strengthen collaborations with new and established networks of artists, curators, and other art professionals as part of expanding international opportunities for contemporary art form Norway.
You will work to promote and stimulate idea exchange and contribute to the development of knowledge and practices within contemporary art. You will also work closely with external institutions, organisations, curators, and other art professionals - maintaining strong collaborations and partnerships with various stakeholders who contribute to developing OCA’s international position.
For OCA’s participation at the Venice Biennale, you will work closely with the selected curators and artists, taking on overall responsibility for managing the implementation of the commissioned project.
OCA is seeking a candidate with extensive experience with contemporary art and execution of public programmes, relevant education, and experience with managing and leading teams. A strong candidate can demonstrate a proven competence and track record of curating and realizing larger projects and building strong international networks.
Interest in the theoretical and everyday use of new technology and digital platforms and curiosity about speculative futures are advantageous, as are knowledge of how to build communities and structures that maintain global connections.

Head of Programme reports to OCA’s Director and works collaboratively together with the OCA team.
