Operations Coordinator

The Operations Coordinator will support the Director of Operations and work closely with the Technical Manager, HR responsible, Science team and Administration in managing the day-to-day activities of the REV Ocean vessel. This role involves coordinating logistics, crewing, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and assisting with administrative tasks to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Job location: Fornebu, Bærum

Duties and responsibilities: 

Logistics Coordination

• Assist in planning and coordinating the vessel's schedule, including research missions, port calls, and maintenance periods.

• Assist with obtaining permits for the ship’s various activities such as scientific sampling, submersible operations, helicopter operations etc.

• Support the ship’s administration, logistics and planning

• Coordinate transportation and accommodation for crew and researchers

Administrative Support

• Maintain records and documentation, including logs, reports, and compliance documents.

• Assist in preparing and distributing operational reports and communications.

• Handle correspondence and communication with stakeholders, including researchers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.

Crew support

• Support HR responsible with crew recruitment and staffing.

• Support HR responsible with administering employee benefits, and ensuring competitive compensation packages to attract and retain talent

• Identifying training needs, organizing training programs, and supporting crew development.

• Develop and implement crew onboarding program together with COO and HR responsible

Safety and Compliance

• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

• Assist in developing and maintaining ship-specific procedures and checklists.

• Monitor and report on compliance with environmental and maritime regulations.

Operational Efficiency

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

• Support the Director of Operations in managing budgets and financial records.

• Assist in troubleshooting operational issues and coordinating solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Previous experience in maritime operations is a must.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.

• Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
