Claxton are currently recruiting a Workshop Supervisor on a full time, permanent basis to join their team in Stavanger, Norway.
The successful candidate will work within the overall operations department, the role holder is responsible for day to day co-ordination of the operations functions of workshop, maintenance, project mob and demobilisations. To coordinate and organise these functions to ensure the smooth operation of various processes that provide service delivery in the optimum way supporting current & planned projects and promoting a reputation for excellence with Claxton clients & within the Claxton organisation.
Duties/Responsibilities
• Manage and oversee all workshop and yard activities
• Hold daily toolbox talk ensuring all necessary staff are aware of daily activities, work priorities and continual commitment to Health & Safety and Quality
• Attend all operations meetings
• Assist with tools and equipment selection and allocation working with project and operations personnel
• Assist and order required spares, consumables and supplies needed for projects and maintenance
• Supervise and assist in preparation of equipment and tooling for job load outs, as per applicable standards ensure all equipment is interfaced and tested in accordance with the requirements of the project and that any witness testing is organized with QA and the requisite body
•Supervise all workshop staff, providing suitable support, assistance and training in Claxton procedures
• Assist project engineers/ operations supervisor in planning any out-of-hours labour requirements where necessary
• Ensure equipment and plant is maintained to a suitable and safe working order, ensuring that the appropriate Line manager is informed of repair work required and equipment is quarantined if equipment/ plant is not considered safe or adequate for its intended use
• Ensure any 3rd party equipment made up in any assembly is stripped down and returned ASAP after a test or project
• Assist with QA inspections, as required
• Attend factory acceptance testing as required, as per Claxton generated procedure
• Ensure the workshop runs and complies within company QA procedures as amended from time to time
• Ensure project load outs are completed smoothly, with required/agreed spares, consumables and hand tools, as per operations manual procedures
• Liaise with projects and operations to ensure efficient and accurate information is supplied
• Prepare, deliver and actively manage daily risk assessments (RA), RA verification meetings ensuring all RA’s are fully and accurately completed and understood and that technicians are adhering to the RA and RAV during their work
• Attend as needed scheduled project update meetings and be prepared to report progress against the work scope or any potential issues that has arisen during the preparation phase
•Supervise all equipment preparation in order that it is completed accurately and on time and in conjunction with the requirements of the Job Traveller(s)
ensure all equipment is interfaced and tested in accordance with the requirements of the project and that any witness testing is organized with QA and the requisite body
Requirements
Essential:
•Good standard of education – Diploma or above.
•Recognised qualification or equivalent experience in Hydraulics & Hydraulic Systems.
•Minimum 2 years Supervisory experience and demonstrable experience in running a workshop and working to tight deadlines.
•Shipping equipment to various onshore supply bases and logistics involved.
•Working with maintenance schedules for pumps and diesel motors.
•Practical experience in preparing equipment for mobilising to the wellsite.
•Experience with computer-based work processes and procedures including control stock inventory.
•Practical experience in fault finding and troubleshooting on hydraulic and mechanical systems and equipment.
•Must be confident & able to read & interpret drawings and schematics.
•Minimum 2 years practical knowledge of application of advanced hydraulic systems.
•Working knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO18001, ISO45001.
•Norwegian codes and standards. NORSOK R01, R02 & Z15.
•Understanding and following written instructions.
Desirable:
•Recognised qualification in mechanics and diesel engines.
•Knowledge of the offshore drilling and decommissioning environment.
•Experience of working in a similar environment.
