Your Mission
As our Business Development Manager, you will be the key driver in identifying and nurturing new business opportunities, working closely with sales and marketing to develop our customer base. You will play a pivotal role in generating leads, qualifying potential projects, and engaging with key stakeholders to expand SSI SCHÄFER’s market presence. Your work will contribute directly to the success and growth of our Logistics Solutions division.
Your Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales:
· Find and nurture potential project leads for LS-sales.
· Develop and execute the local business development strategy with the Head of Sales and Marketing.
· Lead sales activities and manage customer projects from initial contact to final negotiations.
· Identify key market segments and target organizations to drive growth.
Customer & Market Engagement:
· Work with clients across industries such as Pharma, FMCG, Retail, Food, Production, and Fashion.
· Maintain relationships with key accounts and consultancy groups.
· Stay on top of industry trends, tracking companies looking to develop their supply chain networks.
· Attend trade shows, exhibitions, and company events to establish and maintain a strong industry presence.
Marketing & Lead Generation:
· Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure targeted campaigns and events are executed effectively.
· Identify opportunities for SSI SCHÄFER’s presence at trade shows and exhibitions.
· Generate leads through strategic networking and proactive outreach.
What You Bring
· A background in business development and/or sales, preferably within warehousing, automation, or logistics.
· A business degree or equivalent experience.
· Strong relationship-building skills and a customer-focused mindset.
· High energy, self-motivation, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
· Strong communication and influencing skills.
· Commercial acumen and the ability to illustrate the business benefits of automation solutions.
· Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
· The ability to work effectively in a multicultural and collaborative environment.
· A valid driving license and willingness to travel frequently.
