Join an innovative R&D team driving the future of subsea electrification and renewable energy
Jefferson Wells is now looking for skilled and motivated Senior Power Electronics Developers for an exciting assignment with one of our clients. This role is critical in advancing electrification technologies for subsea control systems and enabling renewable energy solutions such as offshore wind, hydrogen, and wave energy. The ideal candidate has solid experience within power electronics, particularly with motor control and battery management systems.
Tasks and Responsibilities
As a Senior Power Electronics Developer, you will be working on a multidisciplinary team involved in the full product lifecycle, from design and development to qualification, integration, production, and commissioning. Key responsibilities include:

Defining hardware requirements in collaboration with system, drivetrain, and battery management system architects.

Designing and developing motor drive and battery management circuits, PCBAs, and modules including component selection, schematic design, PCB layout, and prototyping.

Performing functional verification of circuits, assemblies, and electrical actuators.

Collaborating with system architects, mechanical designers, PCB layout specialists, manufacturing, reliability, and software teams to develop power electronics products.

Creating test procedures and writing test reports on functional, environmental, and manufacturing testing.
Background and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you have a strong academic and practical background in electronics engineering, with experience in developing and industrializing power electronics. Desired qualifications include:

BSc, MSc, or PhD in electronics, automation, cybernetics, or a similar engineering field.

3–5 years of industrial experience in power electronics development.

Experience with analog electronics design using op-amps, transistors, inductors, transformers, and capacitors for high voltage applications.

Familiarity with power semiconductor components (IGBTs, MOSFETs, diodes) and gate drive design.

Experience with AC/DC topologies for motor controllers, BMS circuits, and power supplies.

Proficiency in schematic and PCB design using ECAD tools such as Altium Designer.

Practical skills using lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and simulators.

Knowledge of motor drive and battery control topologies and EMC/CE requirements.
-
Familiarity with control algorithms and embedded programming is a plus.

Structured, innovative, and solution-oriented mindset with strong English communication skills.
