Senior Automation Engineer needed for long-term project in Oslo

Jefferson Wells is hiring a Senior Automation Engineer (SW) with experience in Siemens Simatic PCS7 or a similar advanced control system. We are looking for someone with a background from the oil and gas industry and approximately five years of relevant experience. You will be employed by Jefferson Wells and work on a long-term assignment for one of our clients in Oslo.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Evaluate and approve documentation from subcontractors.

• Ensure compliance with contract requirements and relevant legislation.

• Program PLC-based process control systems.

• Develop project documentation, including functional descriptions and test procedures.

• Monitor and report progress on assigned work packages.

• Perform on-site testing and participate in offshore commissioning.

Background and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation, Cybernetics, or a related field.

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with PLC-based process control systems.

• Solid experience with Siemens SIMATIC PCS7 or similar systems.

• Ability to read and understand system control diagrams (SCD).

• Experience with Comos is a strong advantage.

• Previous experience from EICT projects in the oil and gas sector is desirable.

• Familiarity with standards such as NORSOK is beneficial.
