Odfjell Ship Management manages and supervises about 50 ships with competent teams within fleet management, HSSEQ, crew management and technology management.
As one of our two Technical Managers are up for new challenges within the organization, we are seeking his successor. The Technical Managers are responsible for the technical operation of a selected group of vessels as well as being ambassadors for our safety culture and values. Orchestrating support from other parts of Odfjell to optimize performance and compliance are key drivers. You will promote safe and efficient operations by monitoring performance, managing initiatives, and promoting established work methods.
The positions are located at Headquarters in Bergen and report to VP Fleet Management.
KEY TASKS:
- Drive, recognize and manage performance of team members; providing feedback and coaching.
- Manage annual vessel budget process based on requirements and planned activities from vessels.
- Contribute to development, and govern implementation, of procedures for technical management and best practises.
- Holistic ownership of Vetting processes and other external inspections.
- Maintain contact and cooperation with relevant Class association and vessels flag.
- Actively use monthly and quarterly reports on budget and cost deviation to manage unfavorable developments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Marine engineer, Naval architect or other technical /maritime education
- 5 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of relevant rules, regulations and industry standards
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong computer skills and konwledge of maintenance systems
- Fluency in English (oral and written)
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience as people Manager
- Onboard experience, from chemical tankers/rigs/vessels
