1-year Postdoc position in electromagnetic geophysics
The Geological Survey of Norway (NGU) is seeking to fill a 1-year post-doc position in our MARS3DMT project, funded by the Research Council of Norway. MARS3DMT aims to reveal information of the Earth’s interior from 3D magnetotelluric (MT) data to improve the knowledge of partial melts, melt fraction and water content of the Earth’s interior. The new findings will contribute to a better understanding of the processes in the lithosphere and the interaction of the Earth's crust with the upper mantle.
The Geological Survey of Norway maps Norway's geology and disseminates knowledge about it. We ensure that society has free access to geological knowledge for business development, transport, public safety, the environment, and the management of land and nature.
NGU is an agency under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries (NFD). We have about 217 employees, headquarter in Trondheim and an international working environment.
Research is an integral part of NGU's work and deliveries, and a prerequisite for delivering high-quality mapping at an internationally recognised level.
