Experienced International Sales Engineer
The Conoptica Wire & Cable team delivers measurement systems that has become the industry standard worldwide.
The world is a big place still, and our sales engineers frequently get to see the less well-known parts of it - industrial complexes and tourist beaches are usually not compatible. That said, you will frequently find yourself in the world’s metropoles. Buenos Aires and São Paulo, Chicago, Washington DC, London and Milan. Mumbai, Singapore, Bangkok, Tokyo and Melbourne. We have customers almost everywhere, and we need another sales engineer to help expanding our territory even further.
To keep and develop our position as the world is changing, we aim to help our customers transform into this new, digitised world where sustainability and production efficiency become real economic drivers. Therefore we are seeking a person with the drive and the mindset to bring new ideas and fresh perspectives into our organisation.
The person we are looking for
has a strong sense of accuracy,
has experience from and primarily wants to work in international B2B sales,
has a strong mind for technology and preferably an education in engineering,
is open to new knowledge and has a genuine interest in learning,
has experience with modern marketing methods,
has good negotiation skills and a flexible attitude,
is willing to work flexible hours to serve customers on all continents,
can travel on short notice when required,
has a wide cultural understanding and can communicate well with people from different cultures and different layers of society all around the world,
is well-organized and able to prioritize their own work,
is result-oriented, self-reliant and independent while still being a good team-player.
What is the job at Conoptica
be an active member of the sales and marketing team - a good sense of humor is preferable,
find and follow up leads and sales opportunities as well as following up existing customers and their new or changing needs,
demonstrate and explain the benefits of our products in person as well as through online demos.
perform installation of sold systems and training sessions for new and old customers,
apply your sales and marketing skills to open new sales channels and develop new business models,
acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to confidently sell our products to advanced users,
plan, organise and participate in several exhibitions every year,
lend a hand when needed in service and production.
Wanted Qualifications
A degree at bachelor level or above, preferably in engineering, but candidates with degrees in business administration or marketing will also be considered.
Minimum 5 years experience in international sales.
Must have a valid driver’s licence.
Must be able and willing to travel worldwide for minimum 120 days per year.
You should definitively have competency and interest in doing business with people from very different cultures. Conoptica systems have been sold to 48 countries (on last count), and the number is still increasing. We expect you to leave any prejudices you may have at home before coming to work – both in our office and when meeting customers.
Minimum language skills: Fluent in English and business proficient in one more language that is not Norwegian. Must master Norwegian adequately also.
We are located in Klæbu outside Trondheim. We primarily want you to have this as your main base of work.
Not a requirement, but if you have your cultural heritage from outside Europe we will see it as an advantage. We currently have 7 nationalities represented in the company, and we’re happy to see this number increase.
