Senior Business Controller

Role? As a Senior Business Controller you will own and drive planning, forecasting, and reporting processes and deliveries – and shape the future of financial steering across Schibsted Marketplaces.

WHAT’S THE JOB LIKE?
You’ll join our FP&A and IR team, with the mission to secure financial performance by driving high-quality forecasting, planning, management reporting and analysis – and to contribute to our finance transformation. The team reports to the Group CFO and you’ll be a part of a high-paced environment where not everything is set, so you need to thrive in a setting with room to shape, build, and improve. We work flexibly, trust each other to get things done, and value clear ownership. Some travel across our Nordic markets shall be expected as part of collaboration with local teams and our business areas.
Main responsibilities:
- Leading our management reporting to Management and the Board
- Assisting the month-end closing process, ensuring the accurate and timely preparation for financial and management reports
- Conducting financial analysis and summarise key findings, providing insights into trends, risks, and opportunities within our businesses and the company as a whole
- Driving planning and forecast processes and deliveries in close collaboration with our business areas
- Collaborating with business controllers in our business areas and support functions as well as other key stakeholders across e.g., accounting, financial controlling, financial systems and strategy – ensuring streamlined processes, securing high-quality data, reporting and decision support, as well as challenging assumptions and financial performance
- Identifying and implementing more scalable and cross-functional financial processes and system solutions
- Supporting the Group CFO and CEO by handling various ad-hoc requests and creating Board memos and presentations
WHO ARE YOU?
Experience:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics or Finance
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience within FP&A, business controlling, corporate finance or consulting
- Experience with financial ERP and consolidation systems, preferably SAP, and BI tools like Tableau or PowerBI is an advantage
- Highly proficient user in Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office with the ability and experience to create analysis and presentations to Management and/or the Board
Skills:
- Strategic thinker with the ability to see the big picture and plan ahead, but still enjoy getting into the details
- Structured and detail-oriented with a talent for identifying insights and turning numbers into actions
- Strong analytical skills and a comprehensive business understanding
- Strong ability to take initiatives pro-actively, take responsibility, and deliver results
- A team player who enjoys collaboration, but who also thrives with independent responsibility
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to drive efficient stakeholder management
- Fluency in English and proficiency in Norwegian, written and verbally
