NAAF is seeking an innovation-driven senior researcher
The Norwegian Asthma and Allergy Association (NAAF) is looking for a new leader for pollen forecasting in Norway. This position entails the responsibility for managing and developing the organization’s initiatives in this field. Currently, the service employs two pollen analysts. The pollen office is located in Trondheim at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.

Our mission is to improve daily life for individuals affected by these conditions while also working towards prevention and promoting health-conscious choices. Pollen forecasting plays a crucial role in this work and serves as a key resource for individuals and society.
The Senior Researcher will be part of the Department of Science, Policy, and Communication and will report to the department head.
Key Responsibilities:
Overseeing the daily operations of the pollen forecasting service
Ensuring service regularity and quality
Pursuing professional development within the field
Developing and improving the pollen forecasting service
Establishing and maintaining collaborations with national and international research communities
Providing information and advisory services to user groups and the general public
Building expertise in advising on plant selection for public and private spaces to benefit allergy sufferers
Submitting annual reports following the pollen season
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Master’s degree or PhD in pollen analysis or a related field
Several years of experience in pollen forecasting
Research publications in the field
Experience in securing project funding
Strong IT skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and in a structured manner
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Norwegian, Swedish, and English (both general and professional contexts)
In-depth knowledge of plants and allergies
Strong communication and collaboration skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
