The business area “Technology and Project Delivery” drives value creation through optimising project delivery, procurement, operational excellence and leveraging IT & digitalisation. The business area is also responsible for ensuring a workplace without injury or harm. This role will be part of the Project Delivery Hydro Redesign and Greenfield unit, which primary responsibility is to oversee and deliver redesign and greenfield hydropower projects. This unit provides project resources, support and quality services to Statkraft assets to ensure optimization through value engineering.

Job Description
We are looking for a Senior/Principal Engineer with vast experienced within early-stage development, design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning of mechanical equipment and hydraulic steelworks.
As a senior mechanical engineer in our projects, you will:
Support in planning and participate in quality assurance and control both in early phase development and during construction.
Work with and perform technical calculations and optimisation of relevant equipment and waterways in cooperation with other disciplines, establish lay-out, and cost estimates for mechanical equipment and hydraulic steelworks.
Assist during installation, testing and commissioning.
Your role will be determined based on your experience.
Perform design reviews and reviews of calculations for hydropower equipment and waterways.
Contribute to diligence services on potential M&A opportunities and
Contribute to improvement of processes and tools as well as digitalisation opportunities
Qualifications
We look for an experienced engineer with essential skills within hydropower mechanical equipment, which includes:
Mechanical engineer MSc/BSc with minimum 5 – 7 years of relevant experience from power company, consultant or manufacturing industry.
Experience as technical lead or manager in projects
Strong ability to combine ICT-skills and mechanical equipment knowledge.
Experience with optimization, design, costing, manufacturing, installation, testing and commissioning of hydropower assets and equipment.
Analytical, structured and planning oriented
Experience with condition assessment of mechanical equipment.
The candidate shall have high ethical standards and strong HSSE focus as well as excellent communication skills and proficiency in one of the Scandinavian languages and English, both orally and in writing.
