This is a Philips VR1100, one of the later models of Philips S-VHS ET range, released in the early 2000s. Philips VCRs were manufactured by JVC, with comparable specifications and picture/audio quality.

The VR1100 is now regarded as one of the best S-VHS VCRs for transferring VHS content to digital formats, and is included in digitalfaq's authoritative list of best machines.

Manufactured in Malaysia, this VCR has 6 heads for optimal picture and audio performance. More importantly, it has a digital timebase corrector (TBC), which is necessary to produce the stable image you'll need when transferring VHS and S-VHS recordings to digital formats. The TBC function is combined with the Digital Noise Reduction (DNR) feature to produce a picture that is clean as well as stable. It is activated using the dedicated button on the chassis front panel.
